How to Make your CDs into MP3s using Windows Media Player
Follow These Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Right-click the title bar and scroll down to "Tools", and then click on "Options".
2. Select the "Rip Music" tab and click "Change" button to choose the directory you want your "ripped" music to go. "Ripping" a CD is essentially the opposite of "burning" one. It transfers the media on a CD to your computer.
3. Next, click on "File Name" and select the details you would like to include in your file names.
4. Now you are ready to choose your Rip Settings. Switch the format to MP3 and make sure the "Rip CD when inserted" square is checked, and the "Only when in the Rip tab" circle is filled. Set your Audio Quality and your almost done (you may want to update Windows Media Player if your version of the program doesn't allow you to set MP3 quality).
5. Close the Options box. When you insert a CD and click the Rip tab, your CD will automatically rip the MP3s to your chosen directory.
